WARREN – This is Warren De La Salle’s time of the year.
“We gear ourselves for November football,” coach Dan Rohn said Friday after the Pilots began the state playoffs with a 56-34 win against host Warren Fitzgerald in a Division 3 district semifinals game. “We start lifting in January and all we talk about is November.
“We want to win our league games and be conference champions but if that doesn’t happen the most important thing is to win the last game of the year,” added Rohn.
Senior Anthony Bitoni ran for one touchdown and passed for another as De La Salle had its highest point total since scoring 64 in the season opener against Hamtramck.
