Disgraced former Boston City Council Tania Fernandes Anderson put District 7 in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons. From corruption charges filed late last year to her prison sentence which started last month, Fernandes Anderson has slow-walked accountability for her actions and damaged the integrity of her elected position.
D7 residents were collateral damage, their councilor tied up with court dates and public damage control instead of focusing on the problems at hand.
They deserve a re-set.
But District 7 needs to do more than weather the scandal, it needs a City Councilor who can restore faith in the office, understand the needs of its residents, and help constituents to thrive.
