INDIANAPOLIS -- Rick Carlisle knew going into Friday night's game against the Hawks that fate hadn't done him and his Pacers that great of a favor by taking Trae Young out of the lineup with a knee sprain.
In Young, the Hawks were missing the face of the franchise, just as the Pacers are missing theirs in All-Star point guard Tyrese Haliburton . But in the Hawks' case that's all they were missing. Young was the only player listed as "out" on the Hawks' injury report on Friday. Haliburton was one of seven with two of the other six being opening-night starters and four of them being key rotation players.
