Georgia football hasn’t played a ranked Florida team since 2020.

That 44-28 Gators win that year as a No. 8-ranked team against the then-No. 5 Bulldogs is the last time Georgia lost in the rivalry game.

The Bulldogs are No. 5 again heading into the latest edition of the rivalry game at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 1, in Jacksonville.

The Gators are 3-4, 2-2 in the SEC while Georgia is 6-1 and 4-1.

Bulldogs coach Kirby Smart said the matchup itself is enough to get his team amped up.

“Georgia-Florida week doesn’t need a lot more explanation,” he said. “It’s what it is. We’ve got a lot of kids that were recruited by both schools. They know the history of the matchups. The ability to go to Atlanta when the divisions were there ran through this game. So guys have had great energy." S
