Real solutions needed

I am concerned about the direction our city is heading when it comes to homelessness, addiction and public safety.

I would like to understand what positive impact safer supply has made in our city.

Most people experiencing homelessness did not choose that path. Yet, instead of real recovery options, many are simply being given more drugs, which keeps them trapped in addiction.

In 2024, the federal government committed $5 million during two years toward safer supply in Ontario. But most homeless people still lack family support, housing, and basic stability. Many are visibly struggling on our streets. Clearly, decriminalizing dangerous drugs did not help our homeless situation, only caused them to be caught in an endless loop.
