Prime Minister Mark Carney makes a live address on Canada's plan to build a stronger economy at the University of Ottawa on Oct. 22, 2025.

Last week, Prime Minister Mark Carney delivered a pre-budget speech to a room full of university students in Ottawa, in which he spent remarkably little time talking about the concerns of the young Canadians arrayed in front of him. Being in a helpful mood, we’ve taken the time to tweak Mr. Carney’s speech a bit to more directly address the worries and needs of twentysomething Canadians.
