BUFFALO, N.Y. — One person is dead and another hospitalized after a shooting in Buffalo early Saturday morning.

According to a Buffalo Police spokesperson, shortly before 2:30 a.m., officers responded to West Chippewa and Pearl Streets after receiving reports of gunfire in the city's entertainment district.

2 On Your Side saw a body on the ground with a sheet over it around 2:34 a.m. in the parking lot at Chippewa and Pearl.

Halloween revelers, who were on Chippewa celebrating the holiday, were told to leave the area after the street was shut down by police.

A spokesperson later confirmed that a man with a gunshot wound to his head died at the scene and that another male victim was transported to ECMC, where he remains in stable condition.
