In the boxing ring of life: Fighters strive for 'significant strikes'

TRAVERSE CITY — According to Significant Strikes founder and fighting coach Christopher Franks, boxing has a 1-percent rule.

“One percent of people who walk through the gym will make it to a competition, 1 percent of competitors will go on to win multiple fights and possibly win an amateur title, and 1 percent of those people will actually make the transition to a professional.”
