Chelsea name Jurgen Klopp’s former Liverpool recruitment expert as part of their expanded transfer team

Chelsea have announced the appointment of a fifth sporting director, Dave Fallows, the celebrated former Liverpool recruitment expert who helped build Jurgen Klopp’s great side.

Telegraph Sport reported last month that Fallows would be joining Chelsea having left Liverpool in September last year. There he was part of the team under Michael Edwards that built Klopp’s Premier League title-winning side of 2019, before then doing the same again for Arne Slot with his triumphant squad last season.

Fallows joins Paul Winstanley, Laurence Stewart, Joe Shields and Sam Jewell among the sporting directors at a club that has become one of the most active traders in the Premier League.
