Many Stark County voters will have plenty of choices for school board in this election.
Thirteen of the 17 school districts in the county have contested races, mirroring a statewide trend with more people running for school board.
Seventy-one candidates are seeking 47 board seats in Stark, led by eight people running for three seats in Louisville.
According to data collected by the Ohio School Board Association , 2,117 candidates are seeking board seats statewide this year. Of the 78 counties that reported data — 10 did not share information — 928 candidates are seeking their first term, while 1,124 incumbents are running for reelection.
