FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - Registration is now open for Special Olympics Indiana’s Polar Plunge.
The event is set to return to Fort Wayne on January 31, and will be held at Metea County Park.
According to organizers, the annual fundraiser collects donations for local and state Special Olympics programs while also providing awareness for the movement.
Special Olympics Indiana helps individuals with intellectual disabilities ‘live active lives through inclusion, socialization, exercise, and friendly competition’.
There are currently over 19,000 athletes who participate in at least one of the 20-plus sports and programs it offers.
Organizers say their goal is to raise at least $115,000.
