Only one man remains in police custody on suspicion of attempted murder after a mass knife attack on a train on Saturday. ‌

British Transport Police confirmed that the 32-year-old man from Peterborough was arrested in connection with the horror incident in Huntingdon is now the only suspect. ‌

A second man, a 35-year-old from London, who was also arrested at the scene, has been released with no further action. ‌

Detectives said the man was reported "in good faith to officers responding to the incident that he was involved in the attack, and following enquiries we can confirm that he was not involved."

Police now know that the suspect boarded the LNER train at Peterborough station and they confirmed that a knife was recovered by officers at the scene.
