AUSTIN, Texas — The Austin Police Department (APD) is asking for the public's assistance in locating a driver involved in a hit-and-run in southwest Austin.
According to APD, the incident occurred just before 8:30 a.m. on Oct. 29. A vehicle ran a red light at the intersection of West Slaughter Lane and Escarpment Boulevard and hit an adult who was riding a bicycle. Two children, a 4-year-old and a 3-year-old, were also on the bike when the incident happened.
The vehicle is described as a light-colored four door vehicle, possibly a Mazda 5 SUV or hatchback. It continued going west on Slaughter Lane after the crash.
