DETROIT, Mich. (WLNS) – The Detroit Lions returned to Ford Field on Sunday, welcoming the Minnesota Vikings to town. Coming off their bye week, the Lions lost 27-24 to Minnesota.
Before Sunday's game, the Lions signed Aidan Hutchinson to a four-year, $180 million extension. Hutchinson was drafted in 2023 and has been the heartbeat of this Lions defense since then. He recorded 1 sack on Sunday against fellow Michigan alum and Vikings quarterback, J.J. McCarthy.
The Lions struck first on Sunday. On fourth down and 4, Jared Goff found Zach LaPorta for a 40-yard touchdown pass to take the 7-0 lead. The Vikings quickly evened things up on their next possession. After being out for 6 weeks due to a high ankle sprain, McCarthy found Justin Jefferson in the end zone to make it seven all.
