Metro Vancouver is looking to expand its overnight camping locations as popularity for the activity soars across the country.

The bulk of camping locations in B.C. are outside of Metro Vancouver, largely due to density and urban development across the region. But a study conducted on Metro Vancouver’s regional parks concludes that many more opportunities for camping could be offered to meet the growing demand.

A report on the topic will be going before Metro Vancouver’s parks committee on Wednesday. No one at Metro Vancouver was available for an interview Sunday, its media department said.
