PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) -- A long-standing Peoria tradition once again brought the community together this weekend to celebrate Lebanese heritage and food.

The Itoo Society hosted its 98th Annual Itoo Supper, serving hundreds of guests during the two-day event. On Saturday, attendees picked up pre-ordered meals during the drive-thru event from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Then on Sunday, the celebration continued with an all-you-can-eat buffet from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., featuring authentic Lebanese dishes such as cabbage rolls, baked kibbeh, chicken and rice, green beans, pita bread, and Lebanese salad. Baklava was also available for purchase.

For nearly a century, the Itoo Supper has served as a way to connect families, preserve culture, and give back to the community.
