FAYETTEVILLE, Arkansas — The University of Arkansas (U of A) Bands is mourning the loss of Jayce Schutte, a 19-year-old trumpet player from Benton who died on Nov. 1.

U of A Bands said Schutte was majoring in biology at the university. He played in the Razorback Marching Band, the Hogwild Band, and a spring concert band.

5NEWS' sister station THV11 reported in March 2025 that Schutte was recently diagnosed with leukemia and myeloid sarcoma.
