MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — Mo’Bay Beignet hosted its second annual Dachshund on Dauphin event Sunday, and dozens of wiener dogs dotted Mobile’s Cathedral Square.
If you went for a walk in downtown Mobile Sunday afternoon, it probably didn’t take long to spot someone with their long, furry friend.
“We’ve got at least 60 Dachshunds running around here getting ready for a Dachshund run in Cathedral square,” laughed Eric Foxx from Mo’Bay Beignet.
It was a dachshund dash — and there could only be one “wiener” winner.
“You’ve got to be quick. You’ve got to be fast, you’ve got to be agile. Okay? Not everybody gets this,” said Foxx as he held up a giant stuffed Dachshund. “You have to be on your game for this to happen, alrighty? And this is the trophy,” he continued.
The competition was fierce —
