WICHITA, Kan. — Kansas prosecutors on Friday charged a former St. Louis television anchor with the stabbing death of her 80-year-old mother.

Sedgwick County jail records show former KTVI Fox 2 anchor Angie Mock, 47, was booked on a charge of first-degree murder in the death of her mother, Anita Avers.

According to a Wichita police news release, officers responded at about 8 a.m. Friday to a report of a stabbing in the 1500 block of East Crowley Street.

Police said Mock was located outside the house, and her mother was found in bed with multiple stab wounds.

Police said Mock's mother was taken to a local hospital and pronounced dead a short time later.

Mock was also treated at a local hospital, although it was unclear why.
