Mumbai, Nov 3: Following India’s historic triumph in the ICC Women’s ODI Cricket World Cup 2025, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a cash reward of ₹51 crore for the team — marking the country’s first-ever women’s World Cup victory.

The Women in Blue scripted history at DY Patil Stadium, defeating South Africa by 52 runs to end decades of heartbreak, including narrow misses in the 2005 and 2017 finals.

Announcing the prize, BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia said, “BCCI has announced a reward of ₹51 crore for the entire team — players, coaches, and support staff. In 1983, Kapil Dev’s World Cup win changed Indian cricket forever. Today, our women have done the same.”
