SOUTH WINDSOR, Conn. (WFSB) - Police are investigating an smash-and-grab incident where suspects used a car to rip the door clean off an Exxon gas station overnight.
The robbery occurred at the Exxon station on John Flitch Boulevard in South Windsor.
Security footage captured how it all unfolded: a dark green Volvo pulls into the parking lot early this morning, and at least three people dressed in all black with their hoods on and faces covered get out of the car with crowbars in hand.
The suspects first tried to break the door open by hand but couldn’t.
They then tried tying the door to their car.
After an initial failed attempt, they tried again, ripping the door off its hinges and sending it flying into the parking lot.
The owner said the suspects then stole the ATM and drove off.
