Effingham County residents will get to vote on two community-impacting items on this week's ballot, deciding first if the school system can continue to collect a one-cent sales tax to fund capital improvement projects and secondly to decide if Rincon businesses can compete with those in surrounding municipalities by allowing liquor sales within the city limits.

Election Day is Nov. 4 and voters can cast their ballot at their assigned precinct from 7 a.m.-7 p.m.
