India’s 52-run win over South Africa in the ICC 2025 Women’s World Cup final is historic in many senses. Not only have the players become national heroes, but they are also getting some much-deserved love from around the country in monetary rewards.
For a start, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced a ₹51 crore reward for the team following their historic triumph. It will be in addition to the USD 4.48 million (approximately ₹40 crore) they’d get from the ICC as the prize money for the tournament.
Secretary Devajit Saikia said the prize will be distributed among all players, support staff, and selectors. The BCCI described the gesture as a mark of gratitude and recognition for the team’s remarkable achievement.
