An Air India flight from San Francisco to Delhi was diverted to Mongolia on Saturday after the crew detected a possible technical issue mid-air, the airline confirmed.
“AI174 of 02 November, operating from San Francisco to Delhi via Kolkata, made a precautionary landing at Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, after the flight crew suspected a technical issue en route,” an Air India spokesperson said.
The aircraft landed safely at Ulaanbaatar’s Chinggis Khaan International Airport, where it is currently undergoing detailed technical checks. Air India said it was coordinating with local authorities and ground partners to assist stranded passengers.
