FOREST PARK, Ohio (WXIX) - An investigation is underway into the cause of a fire that shut down all businesses at a Forest Park strip mall, police and fire officials say.

Flames broke out in the kitchen and went into the vents at Hamro Restaurant on Northland Boulevard around 8:15 a.m. Monday.

Fire was visible from the roof at one point, said Lt. Adam Pape.

Fire crews brought one person out of the building, he confirmed.

Forest Park Fire Chief Jermaine Hill said someone was found sleeping in the back of the restaurant.

The man was not hurt, he said, and fire crews walked him out.

A damage estimate was not immediately available.
