The NFL trade deadline action has begun, and the Philadelphia Eagles and Miami Dolphins are the first ones to strike.

On Monday morning, Miami traded pass rusher Jaelan Phillips to Philadelphia for a third-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported.

This shouldn’t come as a shock to Miami, as they are in fire-sale mode with their season in tatters following a 2-7 start and the firing of general manager Chris Grier on Friday.

Phillips is a pending free agent, making it easier to part ways with him. Phillips has 25 tackles and three sacks in nine games for Miami, and now he gets to move on to the defending Super Bowl champs, who are fighting to get back there in February.
