The North Carolina High School Athletic Association has released the brackets for the high school soccer playoffs ahead of the first round.

The playoffs will feature six rounds in each classification except for 8A, which has a smaller bracket. The top eight seeds in the east and west brackets each receive a bye in the first round. Unlike previous years, top seeds are not decided by conference champions. Seeding is done entirely by RPI rankings.

Two Western North Carolina teams earned No. 1 seeds in their brackets – Polk County in Class 3A and Reynolds in Class 6A .

The first round of the postseason will take place on Nov. 4, leading to the state championship games Nov. 20-22.
