LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Kentucky Humane Society (KHS) is opening up a pet food bank for Louisville families.
The humane society said on Monday they're offering this supplemental pet food to those struggling with financial insecurity.
Those who are needing assistance are asked to complete the request form here or they can call (502) 509-4738.
A KHS spokesperson said they can provide one free bag of cat or dog food per household per month.
They were able to open the pet food bank thanks to a semi-truck full of pet food and supplies, and can continue to partner with other food banks to expand access to pet food across the community, the spokesperson said.
