A cooling trend will bring below-average temperatures to Southern California on Monday and Tuesday, but forecasters are keeping an eye on a chance of sprinkles on Wednesday.

Skies will remain mostly clear for the beginning of the week, except for some morning low clouds and fog across the coasts and lower valley areas.

"We're not seeing a deep marine layer, but it is out there," KTLA Meteorologist Henry DiCarlo said on Monday.

On Wednesday, a cold front from the Gulf of Alaska will sweep across the state, bringing an 80% chance of rain to northwest San Luis Obispo County, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

"It's a big storm too, a good-sized storm ... Right now we're on the outside looking in, meaning we could be looking at a few sprinkles on Wednesday morning," Henry sai
