SHREVEPORT, La. -- Sunday marked the end of an era for DixieMaze Farms in north Shreveport, as families gathered one last time to enjoy the pumpkin patch, pick pumpkins straight from the vine, and get lost in the corn maze.
For many, the visit was a nostalgic trip down memory lane.
Toneshea Johnson shared, “My five-year-old, my three-year-old, and my one-year-old — this is their first time coming. The last time we came was when my 11-year-old was three.”
Another visitor, Dylan Lotto, with his arms carrying pumpkins, added, “My daughter’s been coming here ever since she was one. And it’s been great all these years.”
What began as a simple pumpkin patch in 1999 grew into a full-fledged “agritainment” destination at 9596 Sentell Road that became a fall tradition for many local families. B
