ROCK ISLAND, Ill. (KWQC) - The City of Rock Island will hold two public listening sessions to hear feedback on a proposed urban agriculture ordinance.
The first session is at 5:30 p.m. Monday in council chambers at Rock Island City Hall on the third floor, according a media release.
The second session is at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 1 also at Rock Island City Hall, the release said.
The city said the proposed ordinance aims to:
encourage urban agriculture and affirm residents’ right to produce their own food

provide clear standards for upkeep and enforcement when problems occur
City staff want to get more community input before presenting the ordinance to city council again, the city said.
