: The opposition Voice of the People Party (VPP) finds itself at odds with its own stance on the regularization of adhoc employees, sparking debate and confusion.
VPP chief Ardent Basaiawmoit has written to Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma, demanding regularization of adhoc employees appointed against sanctioned posts after 2007. However, the party’s executive committee in the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) has revoked the regularization of over 30 casual employees, a move stayed by the Meghalaya High Court.
This contradictory approach has raised questions about the party’s consistency and commitment to supporting adhoc employees, with some interpreting it as a hypocritical stance on the issue.
