EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Evansville Police say a drunk driver crashed into a pole.
They say it happened late Sunday night at Main and John Streets.
Police say a witness told them the driver of truck was speeding when he tried to make a turn and crashed into the pole.
They say the witness told them the driver stumbled out and threw a can.
Police say they later found the can, which was for a Heineken.
They say the driver is Junior Lang, who was on scene when they arrived.
Police say Lang told them he crashed because he had been texting his wife.
He even offered to show the texts to officers.
Officers say Lang was not able to find any proof of insurance and smelled like alcohol.
They say he also had watery eyes and slurred speech.
Police say he refused any field sobriety tests, but
