Two first responders and the husband of a local mayor are dead after two separate accidents tied to a drag racing event in Oklahoma, officials said.

On Friday, Oct. 31, one person died while preparing for the H-Town Throwdown in Hartshorne, the McAlester/Pittsburg County Emergency Management announced in a Facebook post . The next day, on Saturday, Nov. 1, two of the agency’s emergency responders died in a “tragic” vehicle accident at the races, officials said.
