They say money can’t buy happiness, but one lucky Toronto Blue Jays fan might be a little less heartbroken after winning $25 million in what the team’s charitable foundation says is ” the biggest jackpot in baseball history .”
Aric from Oshawa won $25,010,057 in the Jays Care World Series jackpot, the foundation announced Monday. Jackpot sales totalled twice that amount at $50,020,115.
The unofficial winning number is 867814466.
The Blue Jays’ 1993 World Series hero, Joe Carter, was lined up to call the winner to congratulate them, the foundation said ahead of the announcement.
The contest ran from Oct. 21 through Sunday, and the winning number was revealed Monday at noon.
