LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Three teens were taken into custody after shots were fired during an attempted vehicle theft early Sunday morning.
Officers responded to a home in the area of South 29th and E streets around 1:15 a.m.
A 40-year-old Lincoln woman told police three males were trying to break into her SUV. She said when she approached them, they fired a gun at her and ran off, according to LPD.
When officers arrived, they found three teenage boys, ages 19, 17 and 13, nearby and took them into custody.
Four shell casings were found at the scene and bullet holes were located in the SUV’s fender and in the home near the front door frame, LPD said.
