TORONTO — A Ja Morant-less Memphis Grizzlies team lost 117-104 to the Toronto Raptors on Sunday night as the star guard served a one-game suspension.
Morant was suspended for what the Grizzlies described as conduct detrimental to the team. After the Grizzlies fell to the Los Angeles Lakers Friday night in Memphis, Morant told reporters to "go ask the coaching staff" when asked about his 8-point performance in the loss.
On Sunday, RJ Barrett scored 27 points and Brandon Ingram added 26 as the Raptors won consecutive games for the first time this season by beating the short-handed Grizzlies.
Scottie Barnes had 19 points and 12 rebounds, and rookie Collin Murray-Boyles scored 15 as the Raptors won their second straight after losing the previous four. Toronto beat Cleveland 112-101 on F
