VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY)-- A man has died following a crash in Virginia Beach Friday evening.

According to police, officers were called to the 1000 block of Cypress Road just after 6 p.m. for the report of a single vehicle crash. After investigating it was revealed that 47-year-old David German, of Virginia Beach, was traveling northbound on a dirt bike when he exited the roadway and struck a light pole.

German was taken to a local hospital in critical condition where he later died of his injuries.

This crash remains under investigation by the VBPD Traffic Safety Unit.
