DETROIT — Detroit Tigers catcher Dillion Dingler has won the Gold Glove.
He beat out Toronto’s Alejandro Kirk and Boston’s Carlos Narvaez for the post season honor.
The Tigers drafted Dingler in 2020 and become Detrol’s everyday catcher just a few weeks into the regular season.
Dingler is Detroit’s first Gold Glove winner since Ian Kinsler took home the honor in 2016.
He’s the first Tigers catcher to win one since Ivan ‘Pudge’ Rodriguez was named a Gold Glover in 2007.
Dingler joins Bill Freehan and Lance Parrish as the only other Gold Glove catchers in Tiger history.
