TOWANDA, Pa. (WETM) – A Towanda man has been sentenced to serve time in state prison after officials say he was found with meth during a traffic stop in 2024.

Richard D. Vargson, 37, was sentenced to a minimum of 20 months to a maximum of seven years in state prison for the crime of possession with intent to deliver meth, prior offense, an ungraded felony, as stated in a release from the Bradford County District Attorney's Office.

Officials say Vargson was charged with the crime by Pennsylvania State Police following a traffic stop that occurred on State Street in Towanda Borough in February of 2024.

At the time of the traffic stop, officials say Vargson was being uncooperative and refused to consent to a search of his vehicle once the trooper became suspicious. Officials further state
