A Brampton man has been sentenced to four years behind bars for his role as getaway driver during three violent robberies at Niagara pharmacies in 2022.

“It is clear the defendant did not enter the pharmacies, but as the getaway driver he was integral to the success of this joint enterprise,” Judge Andrew Brown said during the sentencing hearing for Devaun Harrison in Ontario Court of Justice in St. Catharines on Friday.

“Without him driving, the robberies would not have occurred.”

Harrison was convicted of several offences relating to the robbery spree, as well as an unrelated charge of possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking.

The 21-year-old was given credit for the time he had spent in pretrial custody, which reduced the time left to serve to about eight months.
