A 33-year-old Thorold man has been arrested in connection with last week’s shooting at Niagara Gateway Information Centre in Grimsby.
At 5:15 p.m. Thursday, Niagara Regional Police were called to the centre at South Service Road and Casablanca Boulevard.
Niagara Emergency Medical Services took the victim, an adult male, to hospital with serious, but not life-threatening, injuries.
Police said the suspect fled the scene prior to their arrival.
On Monday, police issued an update saying the suspect, Ferdinando Pio, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and discharging a firearm with intent.
He remains in custody and is scheduled for a court appearance Friday at the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse in St. Catharines.
