MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - A man is accused of attacking a 79-year-old woman who was walking her dog.

Police were called to a home on S Highland Street between Poplar Ave and Cowden Ave on Sunday.

The woman told police she was walking her dog when an unknown masked man walked up and started punching her in the face. She then fell to the ground where the man continued to kick her.

The woman told police she had never seen the man before and had no idea why he attacked her.

She was taken to the hospital with non-critical injuries.

Police were able to identify the suspect as Kountu Kella Deeka.

Deeka was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and abuse of an elderly or vulnerable adult.
