CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - 3:34 p.m. UPDATE : The University of Virginia says there is no evidence of an active attacker at this time. UVA Emergency Alerts say to continue to “RUN-HIDE-FIGHT.”

The University of Virginia sent out an emergency alert at 3:05 p.m., saying there are reports of an active attacker with a gun in the area of Shannon Library.

A second alert was sent out at 3:14 p.m., saying university police are on scene at Shannon Library investigating. Academic buildings on Grounds are Access Control only.
