The UVA Police Division issued a warning stating, "ACTIVE ATTACKER with a gun reported in area of Shannon Library 160 McCormick Road. RUN HIDE FIGHT." As the situation unfolded, police continued their investigation at the Shannon Library. In a subsequent update, the police reported that they had found no evidence of an active attacker.
