With six open mayoral seats and six incumbents defeated, major changes are expected in Jefferson County this week when most of the new mayors are sworn in on Monday.

The mayors of Brighton and Leeds will be sworn in on Tuesday. The races in the cities of Argo, Fairfield, Homewood, Leeds, Mountain Brook, and Trussville were open; mayors in Adamsville, Brighton, Clay, Fultondale, Hoover and Tarrant were defeated.

In alphabetical order, here are the details of each city (the date for all but the two noted is November 3:

Adamsville: City Councilman Nathaniel Byrd will be sworn in after defeating incumbent Mayor Pam Palmer. According to the City Clerk the swearing in will be 6:00 p.m. at City Hall, 4828 Main St, in the council chambers.
