MASON CITY, Iowa – An Algona duo accused of extensive credit card fraud is pleading not guilty in Cerro Gordo County.
A trial is now set to begin on January 13, 2026, for Noarys Abreu Perera, 31, and Danisbel Delgado Horta, 34.
Court documents state that Perera and Horta used forged and stolen credit card information to make multiple purchases in Clear Lake between May 18 and May 30. Investigators say the two “engaged in a pattern of specified unlawful activity designed to secure financial gain on a continuing basis in Cerro Gordo County and throughout the State of Iowa.”
Perera is charged with ongoing criminal conduct and five counts of unauthorized use of credit cards. Horta is accused of ongoing criminal conduct, forgery, and six counts of unauthorized use of a credit card.
