A Kitchener killer who had a brief taste of freedom last month remains behind bars.
Kevin Koehler, 61, was freed from prison on Oct. 16, but was arrested the next day and charged with breaking a condition of his release.
He appeared in Kitchener court Monday by video from Maplehurst jail in Milton. The case was adjourned to next Monday. Koehler was remanded in custody.
Police said Koehler was charged after a member of the public saw him allegedly breaking the no-alcohol term of his release order.
He was under other conditions, including a curfew.
Convicted in a Kitchener manslaughter in 2013, Koehler was released after completing his sentence and began living in Kitchener.
