Missouri basketball will open its 2025-26 season Monday night with a game on the road at Howard in Washington, D.C. The matchup, part of a three-game series over three seasons, will begin Year 4 of head coach Dennis Gates’ tenure with the Tigers.
Mizzou reached the NCAA Tournament for the second time under Gates last season, returning to the Big Dance after failing to win a conference game a year earlier. The Tigers’ March Madness trip ended at the first hurdle, with a somewhat surprising Round of 64 defeat to Drake in Wichita.
Howard, which Mizzou beat 77-62 last season in Columbia, is coached by Kenneth Blakeney and is an HBCU that plays in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. The Bison finished last season 12-20 and lost in the first round of their
