Local leaders react to death of Martha Layne Collins

Former Governor Martha Layne Collins made an impact on all of Kentucky, but her influence can be felt on many right here in Pulaski County.

“I think Kentucky’s lost an icon,” said Lee Ann Drake, chair of the Pulaski County Democratic Party. “She’s the only woman governor that we’ve had in Kentucky. That’s quite an accomplishment. In terms of what she brought to Kentucky, with Toyota and with her being a former educator, too.”
